The Beaches
Broadbeach boasts one of the most beautiful beaches on the
Coast - if not Australia, fully patrolled and safe for your
family. With the added advantage of the surf waves of
Kurrawa Beach, made famous by the Australian Surf Lifesaving
Championships.
Food and Dining!
Island Beach Resort is just a short stroll from an exciting
range of sidewalk restaurants, cafes and brassieres, with
the beach as the backdrop Broadbeach has turned into a truly
cosmopolitan destination.
Broadbeach boasts more than 100 restaurants and cafes -
offering everything from quick snacks to family dining and
top-class international cuisine from Italian to Indian,
French to Lebanese and Asian, (and of course Australian) -
all with a heavy emphasis on the freshest of local seafood.
Broadbeach Mall is an attractive pedestrian thoroughfare
lined with trendy al-fresco cafes and multi award winning
restaurants.
The Shopping!
Broadbeach is home to some wonderful shopping including
Queensland's largest shopping centre - Pacific Fair Shopping
Centre. Among its cobbled streets and malls it now boasts
over 260 retail outlets, including the Gold Coast's only
Myer department stores, as well as a major cinema complex.
Broadbeach's Oasis Shopping Centre is just that - an oasis
for lovers of fabulous food, fashion and gifts. With 120
retail outlets including a Woolworth's supermarket, and add
to this the Niecon Plaza, Victoria Square and The
Phoenician, and there's little doubt even the most finicky
of shoppers will find exactly what they have been searching
for.
The Events & Festivals
Any Saturday when free live concerts take centre stage in
Broadbeach Mall. On Sunday, the musicians and entertainers
rove from restaurant to restaurant.
Other major annual events include Blues on Broadbeach which
sees the streets blocked off to traffic and transformed into
one giant outdoor party.
Or don't miss the adrenalin rush of the Indy 500, an annual
event attracting thousands of race fans.
